Mr. Tantra Narayan Thakur is the Chairman & Managing Director of PTC India Limited (PTC) since October 2000. Prior to his current assignment, he was Director (Finance & Financial Operations) at Power Finance Corporation (PFC), a development finance institution dedicated to the power sector in India.

Mr. Thakur is credited with leading the process of development of a power market in the country as Chairman & MD, PTC and took the company public in the year 2004. In both PTC and PFC, he has been instrumental in diversification as well as innovative resource mobilisation efforts.

Formerly, Mr. Thakur was a member of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service, and has worked in the office of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India as well as on deputation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at Geneva.
